Closer than most anyone expected but it was our young QB’s first game. All of his talents were not utilized and I’m not sure if that was to protect Bryce or an offensive strategy. If the coaching staff was trying to protect him then they probably cringed when Bryce nailed a defender during one running play. We will learn a lot more as the Wolverines hit the road to Oklahoma. New Mexico thru a bunch of gadget plays against the defense that helped them stay in the game. Although it sounds like a homer statement, the refereeing certainly seemed to be tilted in New Mexico’s favor. Review of game film and another week of practice will undoubtedly lead to growth and improvement as the team prepares for Oklahoma. Go Blue!! Boom the Sooners!
