Tale Of Two Halves….

The first half of the game against PSU was an unbelievable spectacle of inept offensive football on the part of our Wolverines. And I almost didn’t come back to the game for the second half. Zero points, another two interceptions thrown by Bryce and a complete inability to move the ball on offense. It was a replay of what we had seen from our OC and QB all season long but at an even more discouraging level. I have sat thru some very lean seasons but the level of ineptitude had reached an all time low. But I came back to my seat never really being able to give up on my Wolverines. To everyone’s delight, true freshman Tommy Carr came jogging onto the field to lead the team in the second half. I sat quietly as I wasn’t convinced that would be the answer. But something else happened to begin the second half as well. Our stubborn OC finally called plays with the blocking schemes our linemen are most familiar with and the running game once again blossomed. 80 total yards in the first half (along with the turnovers) but 220 in the second. This is not all about Bryce. Opposing defenses are eating our Rhino offense alive.
The Wolverines are now 4-2 with defending National Champs Indiana coming into the Big House for a midday kick. The Hoosiers haven’t won in A2 since I was ten years old so hopefully that voodoo will continue this Saturday. Looking like a beautiful football Saturday so come on out as I continue my countdown of remaining tailgates. Go Blue!! Even when I feel like giving up!!!
