It has been quite a while since I watched a Michigan sporting event with essentially no emotion. I follow nearly every Michigan sport, men and women, and get excited when any of them climb near the top of their sport (here’s looking at you KBA). Yeah, I clapped when we scored a touchdown but it was Rutgers, one of the worst programs in the NCAA. They came in with nearly the worst rushing defense in all of the country. And we sucked. In fact, our touted defense blew one coverage after another to the point were the game was tied in the second half. As 28 point favorites, we pulled it out by seven. I began to think, would I even be my usual sullen self if we lost this game. I think I would have just shrugged and told myself maybe this will be the last straw that would lead to changes in the program.
Which leads me to this coming week which we have rebranded the Fuck The Fans Tailgate because the B1G and the TV networks have used their incestuous relationship to play this mid-November game between two teams heading nowhere at night on a network maybe half the households can get. They do not care what the fans have to endure because of the space race between the B1G and SEC as to which conference can brag about the biggest TV payday. Yet, we will be out there before noon setting up and prepping food. Glad I am almost done with this.
Go Blue!! Beat msu!!!
